We are as insured as we can be to move your precious items, but please note the following:
Carriers Liability:
1. When walking around or in a property we have public liability insurance that covers damage to third party property. This is covered for our full liability limit of $2 million.
2. When we are stationary and have an item ‘on hook’ and in the process of being lifted or seated down, we have a goods on hook extension covering the item for a maximum of $50k.
3. When in transit and rolling, anything on or in our trucks falls to a Government Act:
a. The Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017.
b. This Act governs goods carried by carriers and defaults the basis of carriage to ‘Limited Carriers Risk’. This means the maximum liability payable is limited to $2,000 per ‘unit’. Therefore, for any goods transited the property owner should discuss with their insurer or seek a one off ‘single marine transit insurance’ policy which will protect them for the full insurance value of the goods.
